Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council has approved ColladoCollins proposals to bring Ebenezer Howard's garden city vision for Welwyn Garden City into the 21st Century.
The plans for the Wheat Quarter in Welwyn Garden City will see the former Shredded Wheat factory’s Art Deco listed buildings sensitively refurbished and the site regenerated to provide 1,454 homes and a plethora of community and leisure facilities, office space and a new public square.
Phase 1 works are due to commence in the spring of 2019.
